Great Modern Fairy Tale

Penelope was a much better movie then I expected. It is well written, fun, clever, and entertaining. A modern day fairy tale, because of this it does look like a fairy tale. This is in more than the fact that the main character has a pig nose, the colors are over saturated and bright giving it a imaginary look. This movie is not going to be for everyone, however, it is funny and has a positive message without being syrupy or cutesy. The acting is also quite good making it overall a very good movie. I you like something whimsical like Pushing Daisies or Amelie you'll probably also like this.
