I love Lon Chaney movies as well as James Cagney movies. So, I thought I'd enjoy this one just a little bit more than I did. I guess that what really through me off was the depiction of Chaney's first wife. It's very hard for me to believe that being deaf and mute could be so incredibly stigmatized. I mean, I know there's stigma out there about it. But, I just can't believe that Chaney's wife would react so outrageously to the idea of his parents being deaf and mute. But still, not a bad movie.
