Yes it is overlong but it remains an effective piece of filmmaking. Think something along the lines of 'SCHINDLER'S LIST' meets 'TITANIC'. The incredible all-star cast does a good job. The runtime could had been shorter. But when the key emotional moments land, they succeed.
