Sloppy editing and terrible action scenes makes this a truly sad conclusion to director John McTiernan's career. This was the same guy who made Die Hard and Predator back-to-back. The way these action scenes and chases are filmed is appalling. The night-goggle chase is one of the worst edited action set-pieces I've seen in a major release in years. Chris Klein has zero gravitas as a leading man. I will give credit when it's due though to Jean Reno who plays the villain. He seems to be having a lot of fun.
