Audie Murphy is accused of cowardice after a brutal Indian attack on a wagon train. Now on the run from a vengeful posse, his only hope is to clear his name and stay one step ahead of the law with an unlikely ally - a horse named Tumbleweed. Yes, the title is the name of a horse in the movie. It's goofy but the movie itself is mostly serious but with some neat bits of humor. Some of it provided by Chill Wills as a thoughtful sheriff caught between Murphy protesting his innocence and the bloodthirsty mob.
