Depression-era drama about a naive youth (Cole) beguiled by a beautiful fugitive (Robbie). Problem is his stepfather (Fimmel) is a lawman and on her trail. Margot Robbie is fine as she usually is. The kid Finn Cole is kind of dumb but I guess the role calls for it. Vikings star Travis Fimmel is actually not bad in this as a stern but conflicted parent. There just should be more life and suspense to this movie but it's not there. Narration fills in a lot of the gaps and clues the audience into things they could figure out for themselves.
