Eagle Eye

Cool, but not Good

"Eagle Eye" was not a disappointment, which I was expecting it to be with Speilberg's latest spew of crap off the cutting room floor. However, I found it to be exhilarating. Not necessarily the movie with the greatest flow or the greatest believability factor, but nonetheless, I was thoroughly entertained by it. I stopped being a film buff for two hours and concentrated on the outcome of the story. I became an actual audience member, as opposed to a critic. Shia LaBeouf is probably the worst actor in Hollywood today, but I can see that he is beginning to mature and be given the new "action guy" title. I would be interested to see him in something crazily serious, like a P.T. Anderson movie or something, just to see what his boundaries are. Sure he was in "Bobby," but I don't know anyone who liked it or him in it. Billy Bob Thornton saved the acting for me. He's incredibly talented and seasoned as an actor, which helped compensate for Monaghan and LaBeouf. The story itself is pretty derived, but I still enjoyed the way Caruso carried his plot from point to point. However, the beginning could've possibly taken a much shorter time...but eh.
