Meet the Blacks

'Meet the' Worst

'Meet the Blacks' proves that there can be a worse parody than the latest offering from Marlon Wayans, within the same year. I guess it's unfair to brand this slop in the same category of (so called) "parody" as Wayans' recent disasters, considering that besides it's copy/paste premise from the first 'Purge' film, it only riffs on the concept in slight and recreates one or two moments. That does not make it a better film in any way AT ALL. The attempted narrative is a lousy mess, strung together by thoughtless crude dialogue being passed off as humor. This plot-less endeavor feels exactly like a tiring trek. I was bored right from the opening credits scene, which included narrated exposition over cartoon visuals for added effect. It proves ineffective, considering there is no actual story to be involved in. The only intent of this film, it seems, is to make some kind of half-assed, inconsequential statement regarding the racial perceptions of wealth and class. The direction is easily seen (in dumbed-down fashion), but the actual point is unclear because of the botched mess that is this whole movie. The entirety of this piece is one long, arduous string of meaningless crude dialogues... and nothing more. A complete lack of any and all jokes, or comedic situations, is the final major flaw necessary for me to brand this turd as one of the worst movies I've ever sat through. Zero stars for this unholy dreck!
