Ip Man Once Again

Another movie based on the famous Ip Man. This one differentiates from it's predecessors by being a cross between a loose historical biopic and a kung fu fantasy. A slow years spanning drama sets up the real world people and events. The story covers a certain area of Ip Man's life not shown much in other films. There's just as much focus on other characters, especially the one of Zyi Zhang and her relationship with Ip Man. The fights have that slo-mo fluid fantasy element, but they tend to lean more towards reality in terms of choreography. They play smooth and look smoother. The Oscar worthy cinematography aids in showcasing the hand-to-hand art forms on display. However, those looking for a good action flick should look elsewhere. These fights are only small serviceable additions to the story. They aren't the most stimulating or exciting. This isn't the best of the Ip Man movies thus far, but it's worth seeing for anyone who likes them and wants more of the man's story.
