Hatchet III

Repetitive 'Hatchet' Finale

A sort-of lackluster 'finale' to the 'Hatchet' series. It is short, sweet, and very much to the point, but it manages to be even less fun than part 2. It doesn't stand as well on it's own, feeling much like an add-on to the previous entry. The body count is triple the amount of the last two, which leaves no room for likable new characters, only gory slayings on repeat. There is little creativity with these kills. It's a full on action movie at this point. No horror to be found here besides a few 'jump' scares. Most of the jokes are stupid, as are the characters. The only character worth watching spends most of the movie repeating the fact she knows how to defeat Crowley once and for all. Thankfully, the finale does deliver a great send-off to Crowley. I have to commend the makers of this series for the fact that they have completed a true trilogy with an over-arching story line, unlike most horror movie series that just throw a bunch of needless sequels at the wall with no connections what so ever. There is some mild entertainment to be had with this repetitive slasher, even if it's mostly cheese. For fans of the series only.
