Okay, so I'm completely obsessed with this movie. But for a good reason. This movie has everything- comedy (clever, unpredictable comedy- lines you will most likely be quoting for some time after seeing the movie), drama and romance. You will be totally engrossed in this film from beginning to end- there is not a dull moment in this movie. Juno MacGuff, played perfectly by Ellen Page, who recieved a well deserved Best Actress Oscar nod for the role, is a 16 year old girl, who out of boredom, one day, decides to have sex with her best guy friend, Paulie Bleeker (also perfectly played- by Michael Cera), and after "ten tons of Sunny D and three pregnancy tests" she discovers she is pregnant. She, at first, decides to get an abortion, which she then decides not to go through with, and then after looking in the Penny Saver, she decides to get adoption parents- a suburban, yuppie couple, named Mark and Vanessa Loring (played very well by Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman). Ellen Page does an amazing job as Juno- she is quirky, and funny, yet does the dramatic scenes well also. Michael Cera, as her "boyfriend" is sweet, awkward, and shy, and you will probably find yourself falling in love with him, too, by the movie's end. Olivia Thirlby, however, did not receive enough recognition for her role as Juno's cheerleader best friend, Leah- she does a great job, also. The soundtrack is flawless- it fits in very well with the quirky ness of the movie- the opening scene is set to a children's folk song from the 1970's, by Barry Louis Polisar- and the rest is mostly by Kimya Dawson of the indie band the Moldy Peaches. So, all in all, this movie was amazing, and that is why I became completely obsessed with it.
