Drive is a technically superb, beautifully acted and directed cinematic treat. Director Nicolas Winding Refn hits it out of the park here, giving us a slowly-paced, but engaging character study about a young guy who will unleash with rage to defend the people he cares about. He doesn't talk much, he's quite calm, but when he gets angry, he gets more interesting. In some way, he's a sociopath. In the end, he's just as mysterious as he was in the beginning. I also have to praise Ryan Gosling for his incredible performance as this incredible character. With outstanding directing, effective performances, an interesting old-school film-making vibe, and pretty messed up violence, Drive rocks!!! This film deserved an Oscar nom! There, I said it.
