Software magnate Gary Winston (Tim Robbins) is on the verge of achieving a quantum leap forward in the realm of global communications. He wants to rule the information world by devising a system that will link all sources of communications through his satellites. He recruits the top graduates from the best computer science schools and offers these premium programmers the good life in exchange for good code. Milo (Ryan Phillippe accepts the job with Gary, even though his pals consider it a deal with the devil.
Very quickly, however, this apparently perfect world into which Milo has entered begins to implode on him, beginning with the tragic death of his friend Teddy, apparently the victim of what looks to be a racially motivated hate crime. But then something happens which causes Milo to question the truth about Teddy's murder, as well as the methods Gary employs to keep N.U.R.V. at the top of the charts. Milo is determined to find the answers at any cost and soon discovers that there is more to his new company than meets the eye.

Sometimes the person you thought you can trust betrays you, and some times the person who betrayed you is the person you think you can trust. Gripping thriller for the electronic era and all the geek talk was cool. For eye candy, we have Claire Forlani and Rachael Leigh Cook.
