Sex. Murder. Cover-ups!

“Always leave the cage door open so the bird can return.”

Loosely based on a controversial novel by Michael Crichton, Wesley Snipes plays the young homicide detective Web Smith assigned to investigate the murder of an American blonde call girl found strangled to death on the 46th floor of the Nakamoto Tower in downtown L.A where a major deal between Microcom and the Nakamoto Corps was in the process of being sealed!

A retired foreign liaison with expertise on 'Nihondo' (Japanese language) John Conner (played by Sean Connery) is called in to help the current liaison overcome resistance from the Japanese, who are desperate to avoid a scandal but nothing could prepare these two for the mystery they are about to unfold as they become more and more entrapped inside a web of deceit, kinky sex, politics and cruelty.

To complicate matters political pressure is being applied to get them off the case, and now they must race against time to solve this murder and catch the killer. Sean Connery fans would love this and others might appreciate it for the message of honor and codes of respect shown in the film. A great cast that includes Mako, Ray Wise, Harvey Keitel, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and the gorgeousTia Carrerra. A solid thriller!
