Hitchcock has found a way to weasel his way into my life. For years, I was perfectly content to denounce his movies, calling them boring and slow…even when two of my three friends who studied film production claimed him as their end-all favorite director. I boldly argued with people who actually know what they are talking about. But then I watched this movie. It began as a hit play and it’s one of the three movies that Hitchcock filmed in color. Grace Kelly is gorgeous, the suspense remains high throughout and there’s a murder with little blood and no guts. These things make me happy. Hitchcock, I like you. Let's do lunch.
