The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Pseudo-epic prequel of the epic LOTR

Peter Jackson is back! The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey , is really unexpected. His previous blockbuster epic LOTR (Lord of the Rings) ended with a brilliant mark. Now he has entered to bring back the prequel. I am right. The Hobbit is a prequel to the LOTR. With a hefty runtime of 169 minutes, The Hobbit is a patience tester. The real feeling of it being the prequel, comes when Golem arrives on screen. Until then, the gone 120 minutes seemed too idiotic and rather forceful with back to back action scenes at every interval. I cared for the purpose here. For example: Bilbo Baggins played by Martin Freeman, spends his time in his house with unwanted guests fighting and singing in the dinner table that runs for forty five minutes into the movie. Where is the fun? What is the purpose? There comes into picture Gandalf who gives a map to locate the lonely mountain and fight a dragon. Did they find the mountain? Yes absolutely. Did they fight the dragon. No another sequel probably. I have one serious question for Jackson here. If he brought some eagles to save the dwarfs from the fierce oaks, in the climax, why in hell was the climax created? I expected a epic climax. Sorry that did not happen in here.

The plot development is always asking for answers. Listen folks, this is an adventure hence a small mountain to find and experience all the things on the way. Gigantic monsters stealing horses for dinner time, dwarfs fighting their way in the broken bridge with a herd of crazy figures and the giant rock battle faced by the dwarfs, is this called Epic? I would rather say a pseudo epic. Jackson forced action and made it to feel epic. In the end , the answer is straight forward. So another Hobbit would be arriving soon. I recommend some more time for the great Golem played by Serkis and also the ring connection with the Golem in the upcoming sequel. This Hobbit is really unexpected from Peter Jackson.
