A solid drama and I can see why this won some awards at the film festivals. I could see this get an Oscar or two. Good direction, well paced and a solid, original story for once. It was not the most interesting movie and it was not dramatized enough for me. Still good enough for most drama lovers.

Winter's Bone Review comment
I am confused, so perhaps you can help me out here. "Winter's Bone" was the most absurd movie I've seen in a long time - maybe it was because I watched it at 2am, but the mere fact that the story goes so slowly to a very unbelievable end, how can it be worth any accolade. Its like committees all over the world got together and asked, "What movie this year can we get people to buzz over that just isn't worth it?" Dreamgirls comes to mind several years ago.
