Compared to a female-driven Crank, Kate Beckinsale gives it her all and really lays into this somewhat inane role, but she can only do so much. A typical action-revenge plot with a late-game twist that's not too hard to see coming - the end might promise a continuation, but I can't say I'm anxiously awaiting any more. Stanley Tucci is a nice touch, though.

A mismatched collage of genre tropes, bland characters, and an easy to see coming twist, the bits and pieces of "Jolt" never quite figure out how to fit together, not for the lack of trying by the filmmakers and lead actress.
