Plot: Claire Redfield returns to Raccoon City long after escaping an orphanage years past. Convinced that the Umbrellas Corporation is covering up something big, it soon becomes apparent something is affecting the animals and citizens of the town. Chris Redfield, Claire's brother, is part of the STARS elite Alpha response team, along with Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, Enrico Marini and Brad Vickers and all are sent to Spencer Mansion when Bravo team goes missing. Leon Kennedy, rookie police officer, isn't expecting too much on his first day on the job - only to witness first hand as Raccoon City is transformed into a living hell. -- Chris Kavan

A Valiant Effort

A pretty competent film version of RE 1, 2 and even parts of Code Veronica and Umbrella Chronicles. I loved the set designs for Spencer Mansion and the police station as well. The only thing holding this back from being a great adaptation? A low budget and woeful casting. Kaya Scodelario is the best as a feisty Claire Redfield but aside form that the casting is either bland (Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper and Neal McDonough) or has weird traits like Hannah John-Kamen's Jill Valentine being a gun nut or Avan Jogia's Leon Kennedy being one step removed from a Keystone Cop. If Johannes Roberts has been given a bigger budget, perhaps we could have got more than a bad CGI zombie dog and Licker (and don't get me started on the final boss Birkin monstrosity).
