Del Toro and Robbins uplift mediocre material. Both their character's history is felt through naturally funny exchanges. They carry the film with ease. The rest is not particularly interesting. Our main theme of constructing peace amidst a multi-culture populated and worn-torn area is commendable. The execution of said ideals through drab drama bring down the experience. Also, the upbeat punk-ish soundtrack feels out of place.
