Plot: Jimmy Gralton returns home after 10 years of forced exile in the U.S. While his widowed mother is happy for his return, as are a group of friends, not everyone (including the local priest and fascist leader) are so happy. Especially when he re-opens the village hall - allowing the villagers to gather, sing, dance, box and more. Many will do anything to close down this "dangerous" hall and stop Jimmy's socialist views. -- Chris Kavan

A broad and thought provoking theme carries it from beginning to end, even as the plot tends to drag.
