It'd be easy to make a film that simply recounts how the tragedy depicted unfolded, to layout ideology and misogyny as motive and end on the action. But the weight of "Polytechnique" comes from its primary focus on the horror of the killings themselves and how they are still a smaller piece of a larger problem.
