Plot: Mary Ann Robinson finds her Bronx life forever changed when she is raped on night. Keeping quiet, she runs away to start a new life in Manhattan but finds herself unable to cope with other people's hostility and her own despair. Seeking a way out, she attempts suicide off the Manhattan Bridge but is stopped by Mike, a garage mechanic who takes her back to his basement home. Once there, however, Mike doesn't let her leave - and Mary Ann comes to realize her savior may be her new tormentor. -- Chris Kavan
