Plot Outline:

Kyon, your everyday highschooler, lives an extraordinary life with just about no rest whatsoever. The reason behind this is none other than a girl named Haruhi Suzumiya. They meet a time-traveler, alien, and esper along the way that go by the names of Mikuru, Yuki, and Itsuki, and together they form the SOS Brigade! However, Haruhi was not, and has never been aware of these things, as she wields the power to control the universe in which ever way she wants. Kyon, Itsuki, Mikuru, and Yuki need to prevent her from finding this out. In this movie, Kyon wakes up one morning only to realize that...Haruhi has gone missing, Mikuru and Yuki no longer remember him, and Itsuki's class doesn't even exist! Kyon is the only one who remembers anything!

This is a long film, but worth the time if you are a fan of the series. While the story (especially the ending) may be a bit confusing at first, going back through the film, it makes perfect sense. Both story and characters are fleshed out, the animation is wonderful and they tie it in to the series beautifully. Hopefully they will make another.
