Plot: Ourense, Spain, 1940. In the middle of the Franco's repression, everytime that Elena (Maribel Verdú) close your home's door, she misses key to her secrets. Her husband, Ricardo (Javier Cámara) is persecuted for his political ideas, bringing years hiding in the home where they live with their children Elenita (Irene Escobar) & Lorenzo (Roger Princep).
Salvador (Raúl Arévalo), a disoriented deacon after the experience of fighting in the civil war, arrives to the Ourense's Seminar. Alerted for the Salvador's doubts, the Rector (José Ángel Ejido) sends him to teach at the school where studied Lorenzo. Believing that Elena is a widow, Salvador was obsessed with her to jeopardize the fragile reality of the family.
Wounded and shaken by the circumstances, the characters characters hit themself against the wall of repression, impossible lovers and emotional defeats, like "the blind sunflowers", after a ray of light that returns to life... -- JAT
