Plot: Lee Phillips (Crystal) is a movie publicist with a major problem with movie stars Gwen Harrison (Zeta-Jones) and Eddie Thomas (Cusack), who are known as "America's Sweethearts". The couple have recently split, with Gwen pairing up with a Spanish actor, Hector (Azaria), and Eddie in a rest home, getting therapy. Hal Weidmann (Walken), the eccentric director of latest film, has demanded that the first viewing of the film - before even anyone at the studio sees it - be at a press junket. Lee's job is to keep up the illusion that Gwen and Eddie are still a couple, getting them back together at least until the press junket for the movie.

The usual formulaic deal here. The cast's combined charm makes this rom-com trek slightly more bearable and the supporting players managed a few laughs out of me.

Well I am a guy whose not afraid i enjoy a chick flick every now and agin and this is. Defently a good choice an all around funny sweet and just all around good and worthy movie I suggest if u like Julia Roberts defenetly see this movie no doubt it also proves. That the person u hate the most could actualy wind up being your one true love two thumbs way way up for this sweet romantic and wicked funny movie yea it's old but really good ok here's a a little back ground from the movie. There is a big Hollywood. Coupel who behind closed doors actualy hate each others guts and find there way back to each other with help If u beleve in love at all then go see this movie for sure it will leave u with that warm snuggley feeling after watching it

This movie is about a pair of broken up american sweethearts (John Cusack and Catherine Zeta Jones). John plays Eddie and Catherine plays Gwen. Eddie's agent, Lee (Billy Crystal), tries to get them back together with the help of Gwen's sister, Kiki (Julia Roberts), because the latest film's director, played by Christopher Walken, is holding the film captive. Once everything goes according to plan, what would happen if Kiki has a few feelings hidden in the closet about her sister's ex-sweetheart?
