A stationary western that doesn't benefit one iota on the reteaming of Double Indemnity stars Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck; the plot is one-note, the delivery is mundane at best and there is no satisfactory ending; one wonders why anyone even bothered. Final Grade: D+

The Moonlighter

I couldn't find at least 1 review of this movie where somebody actually liked it. (I think that's a 1st) I feel like maybe I should watch it a couple more times just to see why nobody liked it.What did I miss? I think the only thing that I didn't like about The Moonlighter was the getaway in the automobile after the bank robbery.I would've rather have seen it done by horseback.In my opinion, automobiles & westerns just don't mix.I really liked The Moonlighter.It didn't feel like your average Western.The 1st part of the movie was a tale of revenge (I loved the after the funeral robbery scene) The 2nd half was a tale of a double cross & romance (The fight scene in the cabin was pretty good) If I can find it, The Moonlighter is a movie I wouldn't mind adding to my collection
