If You Sell It, They Will Come

Want to own a really big piece of movie memorabilia? Then head on over to Dyersville, Iowa and make sure to bring your checkbook, credit cards and maybe your first born.

The "Field of Dreams" is up for sale for $5.4 million. Current owners Don and Becky Lansing are willing to part with the land, which has been in the family for over a century, and retire. The field currently attracts about 65,000 people each year who remember the iconic location from the film starring Kevin Costner, Burt Lancaster, James Earl Jones and Amy Madigan amongst others.

You often see props or outfits up for sale, but property is much harder to come by. Sure, it's not cheap, but I hope it stays in good hands and is treated with care and respect. After all, this is what some dreams are made of.

I just hope they don't sell it to someone who wants to put a hotel or something on the site - expensive, yes, but hopefully they keep it preserved.

I wonder if it is actually worth that much or if it is priced that high because of the movie that it was in. Either way, not worth it for me. Good movie, but not worth owning.
