THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL aims to be a sexy lust driven costume drama in the mold of The Tudors. But its lackluster script fails to ignite any sparks and the various love affairs which occur remain dispassionate. Nevertheless, the two female leads make the most of their thinly written characters. Scarlett Johansson is the chaste sincere Mary Boleyn while Natalie Portman is her notorious sister, the scheming sexpot Anne Boleyn who sweeps kings and commoners off their feet. If there is anything to be commended, it's these two talented actresses dueling one another.

The simple fact of the matter is you can not take a 350 page book and make it into a 1 and a half hour movie without it feeling rushed. This movie falls victim to this very thing. The first half of the movie tries to cover way to much ground in to little time. The other problem is this story is very sex laced. But in an effort to be open to a wider audience they made this movie a PG13 when it should have been R. Over all not a horrible movie, the acting was good and the settings were great but they jumped over important parts and the continuity was confusing and rushed. It's sad that such a good book fell short on the big screen.

I really enjoyed this movie....although scarlett johansson has had the tendency to annoy me in all of her films but besides that I thought it was entertaining.

A waste of Natalie Portman in my opinion. A few moments of decent acting from other cast members (though I could be biased as I care very little for Johansson, & have a crush on Portman.) As far as the story, I found that my mind wandered & I grew eager to watch something else.

I really enjoyed "The Other Boleyn Girl." I really like Natalie Portman in these kind of period piece stories. Plus, the history of England is a juicy and tragic one, filled with very dark secrets and stories. Very interesting story and a very interesting way to tell the story of one of England's most infamous playboys. Crazy story with superb acting and great performances. Highly recommended.

A surprise of a movie. I had no idea what it was about before but quickly learned. Acting was good, story moved fast. The down side was that it moved too fast and character development suffered. A solid movie but nothing special.
