Director André Øvredal has stated that Last Voyage of the Demeter is essentially Alien but just transplanted to ship in the 1800s. And so it is - with a Nosferatu-looking and very hungry Dracula stalking the poor souls aboard said ship. It's a solid result but nothing that truly stands out.

A dumb "Alien" rip-off starring the worst depiction of Dracula imaginable.

The Last Voyage Of The Demeter" is based on a single chapter of the classic novel "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. The chapter of the book (and the movie) deal exclusively with Dracula being transported via ship from Romania to London, England in the late 1800s. The movie has excellent production values, a solid story, very good acting, an atmosphere of dread, plenty of emotional punch, along with grisly and blood soaked death sequences as Dracula feasts on his prey. Think the first "Alien" movie set on an 1800s ship and you will get an idea of the intense horror fest you are on for. Not for the feint of heart. Great for everyone else!
