Middling cop/conspiracy thriller movie with a couple of solid actors in it. Chadwick Boseman lends some needed heft to his performance as a conflicted detective. Stephan James and Taylor Kitsch have a great rapport as the criminals at the center of a citywide manhunt. The movie’s main problem is that whilst it is well made and has some solid gunfights, it’s predictable. I guessed one major plot twist before the first act was over. Another issue is that it’s too po-faced for its own good. If you want watch a good cop movie from 2019, watch “Black and Blue” instead.
