Let’s get small and rich at the same time.

Okay, maybe sometimes I’m a little bit asshole,

Are you expecting a movie such as “Honey, I shrunk the kids” or something similar to “Gulliver’s Travels” then you’re going to be a little bit disappointed. No, “Downsizing” is not a comedy about shrunken people. And it’s certainly not a fairytale where little people capture a giant man. Or am I wrong about that? Maybe it is a bit of both. First of all, “Downsizing” is funny at times. The whole process of shrinking and the way they travel with normal people are unique ideas. Downszining gets downgraded.

What an incredibly boring movie. ***spoiler*** there are no adventures. No threats, nothing to make this remotely interesting. It might stimulate some conversations with those who have seen it. Would you do it? Why or why not? The possibilities of the conversation you have, would make for a better story than this dredge. It's a well done piece of film. Matt Damon is spot on as a sympathetic 30 something unsure of what he really wants. Christopher Waltz is impeccable as his new neighbor in the downsized community. But the lack of any reason to care what happens next might have you wondering when something is going to happen, and then when is this thing over. Some of the special effects are good, but kind of misplaced as well, a lot of perspective shots so you get the sense of the differenc...
