Although not without faults (annoying Steve Zahn chimp), "War" is a worthwhile conclusion to one of the best action franchises of modern cinema.

Andy Serkis revolutionized the motion-capture genre, and his work as Caesar in this finale, as well as a the whole current Planet of the Apes trilogy was once again worthy of Oscar contention, and once again, ignored.

Not as action packed as I thought. But it's good enough thanks to its stellar visuals, dark tone, thematically rich story, and great actors.

Really strong close to the new trilogy of Planet of the Apes films - Andy Serkis proves (once again) that he should be nominated for a mo-cap role that rivals most live-action performances out there. Woody Harrelson goes all Colonel Kurtz (get this man some kind bud now) while newcomer Amiah Miller expresses a lot without ever saying a word as the silent Nova. Steven Zahn lightens the mood, providing comic relief in an otherwise dead serious film that has action, heart and drama - and hopefully we get more.
