More a Walk than a Strike Out

As a child, "Ben" (Jimmy Fallon) fell in love with the Boston Red Sox and has been a member of the "Fenway Faithful" for years. Now he has grown up and has become a popular teacher who, while on a field trip with his class, meets "Lindsey" (Drew Barrymore) and becomes immediately smitten. He almost immediately asks the lovely woman out, and she accepts. At this time, his beloved Red Sox ended another disappointing season, so he has lots of time to focus on the new relationship.

At the start of the 2004 Baseball Season, "Lindsey" wants to introduce her boyfriend to the folks (JoBeth Williams, James B. Sikking), but during his annual trip down to Florida for Spring Training with his buddies. She tries to accommodate his love for the team, even going to games and learning the sport. She …

Overacting at It's Best

Last night I was bored, so I just closed my eyes and grabbed something off the shelf. I grabbed Fever Pitch, which is one of those movies that I bought, but only watched once. So why did I waste my money? Because I am addicted to buying movies. Anywho...

Fever Pitch is a cute romantic comedy with a baseball twist. There are really two stories going on, the love story between Barrymore and Fallon and the love story between Fallon and the Red Sox. As a female, I think it is strange that I enjoyed the love story with the Red Sox more. The red sox scenes were sweet, funny, and true to life. I could relate to Fallon's pain (I was raised a Cubs fan).

The acting in the movie was a little forced. Drew Barrymore over acted her role (especially in the begining of the movie), and …
