A beautiful and emotional film about the relationships between several generations of a family. Some beautifully shot cinematography gives life to the tense family sequences. This is one of Bergman's most accessible (albeit longest) films and may be his masterpiece.

Bergman's view of usual subjects (death and human relations) trough the eyes, in this one, of two boys part of a rich old swedish family. The version I've seen is the 3 hrs. long. You can see something is missing, but still is a very good version. The movie has a marvelous script. Technically flawless.
