After being poisoned, a college professor (Dennis Quaid) has to solve his own impending murder. It's a unique take on the neo-noir genre with strange characters and witty dialogue.

A reasonable stab at remaking a minor classic of the Noir genre, but the lightweight leads feel more like a couple looking for a wacky rom com than a gritty thriller and the twist at the end is unconvincing. The strong concept keeps it watchable however, and Charlotte Rampling's presence in a supporting role adds dramatic gravitas.

D.O.A is a great idea for a thriller. A man is poisoned and needs to find out who has killed him . . . before he dies of course. Its got some strange plot jumps that are normally found in 80s movies as audiences apparently used to believe anything, but overall its still a really strong and interesting movie.
