The Winning Season is about a girls basketball team striving to become better players. Lost in this story is a boozing coach who keeps his bad habits close to his heart. This movie never gains momentum. The acting by the girls is mediocre at best, and the adults never strive to make an impact on the screen. The direction of this film wanders wildly, never sticking to one plot long enough for the viewer to gain interest. This film is less of a basketball team playing their heart out to make the championships, but more of an undirected embarrasment and waste of time.
