Dark and gritty animated movie

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is a dark, gritty, unsettling and sad at times animated movie that show's the reality on life. I remember when I was very young at the time when I sawed Robin being tortured into being like the Joker and that right there scared me for life, I remember watching that scene thinking to myself "Jesus I can't believe they did that to Robin". But when I watch it today it still is messed up and it's also sad at the time and the animator's behind this took a brave risk by this as they didn't shy away from being deep and dark, and that's why I loved Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

I'm not going to say anymore as I feel it will give a way big plot details. If haven't watched it you should totally check it out.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (also known as Batman of the Future: Return of the Joker) is a direct-to-video animated film featuring the comic book superhero Batman and his archenemy, the Joker. It is set in the continuity of the animated series Batman Beyond, in which Bruce Wayne has retired from crimefighting and given the mantle of Batman to high school student Terry McGinnis. As in the TV series, Will Friedle and Kevin Conroy star as Terry McGinnis and Bruce Wayne, respectively. Mark Hamill, who played the Joker opposite Conroy in Batman: The Animated Series, returns in the title role.

The plot is so-so, but it has enough twists and turns to keep you intrested.

The voice acting is standard and unfulfilling even from my favorite Joker of all time, Mark Hamill.

Believed to be dead for many years, "The Joker" (voiced by Mark Hamill) returns to wreck havoc on his archnemisis, the "Batman". This time, it's a newer, younger "Dark Knight" (voiced by Will Friedle) he tries to destroy.

Somehow, the "Clown Prince of Crime" has discovered the true identity of the "Batman" he fought all those years ago -- "Bruce Wayne" (voiced by Kevin Conroy).

It's up to the new "Batman" to takedown "Joker," and, with "Wayne's" help, figure out how an old ally of "Wayne's" is involved.

"Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker" is a direct-to-video movie based on the 1999 - 2001 animated television series "Batman Beyond". And it feels like it's just an extra-long episode of the series.

There is nothing spectacular about this movie to make it feel like it's …
