Offbeat crime drama that clearly draws some inspiration from Tarantino with its splashy colors, mood whiplash, and brutal violence. Some of the cast is decent like Danny Aiello, Jeff Daniels, and James Spader. Glenne Headly isn't given much but she's so likable but Teri Hatcher and Charlize Theron are both pretty bad;a highlight is a nasty catfight between the two and Theron wears a white jumpsuit. There are a lot of twists and turns and subplots. Not all of them pay off. But it knows to end one of them the way you want to see it happen.
