Real-life married couple Cornel Wilde and Patricia Knight play a parole officer and a gun moll who fall in love. Much more like a romantic drama than a crime thriller. But the two leads are very much believable as a couple. Apparently they divorced only a couple years later though.

Like all Douglas Sirk movies, this one is a tad melodramatic. However, this film could be classified under film noir, which separates it from the rest of his filmography. It is obvious that the girl who plays the parolee is trouble. She's a little trigger happy, and yet she has a conscious. Ha!
