Everytime I watch this movie, it makes me want to move to the ficticious city inside it, it's just perfect! A fantastic adventure with just the right amount of humor and romance.

A sadly uneven and fairly predictable children's fantasy movie, this film is elevated by its great voice acting, specifically Cary Elwes as the dashing cat baron, Tim Curry as the lecherous King of Cats, and Andy Richter (yes, Andy Richter) as a hilarious servant to the king. Not as good as some of its contemporaries, but a fun treat.

I rented this movie because it is billed as 'the sequel to Whisper of the Heart,' a movie that I adored. I did not find this to be true at all. In addition, it is much more thinly plotted and much less emotionally rich than Whisper of the Heart. It feels like an overly long episode of a TV show rather than a feature film. Plus all the fat jokes were, in my opinion, rather distasteful, and Disney dubbed the American release instead of offering the viewer the choice of dubbing or subtitling like they typically do with their Studio Ghibli releases. I'd only recommend this movie to Studio Ghibli completists.
