Unbelievably grim but archetypal doomed romance movie that reeks of French art house. Beautiful to look at and Beatrice Dalle is both captivating and heartbreaking as the deeply troubled Betty.

I saw the director's cut and it dragged. However, this movie is essential to see for Beatrice Dalle's potential. Unfortunately, her career was ruined due to drug addition, but that is ok, bc she still takes interesting roles. Overall, an intense portrait of young lovers.
