This movie is entertaining enough and has some really great cinematography, especially in the Trenton scenes, which are photographed beautifully. But the story and the characters are a lot like every other pseudo-indie movie you've ever seen, where everything is just a little quirky and offbeat, but nothing is seriously challenging or artistically dangerous.

A realistic look at High-school students. Hal Hefner (Reece Thompson) has a stutter and was invited by the star of the Plainsboro High School debate team Ginny (Anna Kendrick). Performances especially Kendrick, were solid. Soundtrack was interesting but its strength is the screenplay. One of the best lines: Ben - " Life is nothing but repetition, the same thing over and over....The fights you fight today are the fights you fight until you die." and Hal Hefner - "You know, someday you'll find love and then everything will be different." Rocket Science is sometimes dark, lacks humor, but it's point about adolescent angst, individuality, sex and mystery of love.

I didn't expect this movie to be any good. I actually rented it thinking it was Bottle Rocket, and it turned out to be really really good. If you did debate tournaments in high school you will find this especially hilarious. If you didn't, who knows. I did so I can say that.
