An ordinary guy living in Detroit instantly falls in love with a hooker who he meets at the movies. When he goes to collect her things from her former pimp, he ends up accidentally stealing $500,000 worth of uncut cocaine, leading to a cat-and-mouse chase across LA between the lovers, gangsters & police; ending in an explosive clash that could mean the beginning or the end of the couple's dreams of a new life.
A comic book store employee (Christian Slater) accidentally steals a suitcase full of cocaine from the mob while trying to retrieve his wife's (Patricia Arquette) clothes from her ex-pimp (Gary Oldman). He travels to Hollywood in an attempt to find a buyer for the merchandise, unaware that a mob boss (Christopher Walken) has discovered his identity and his intentions.
