Fatal Attraction review

"I don't want to loose my family." A situation for a married couple goes from happy to worse, one of the best thrillers about everyday people. Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas) is a successful lawyer who meets "Alex" Forrest (Glenn Close). Beth (Anne Archer) and their daughter Ellen (Ellen Hamilton Latzen) leave to visit a house and parents while Alex and Dan have drink. One of the best lines: Alex - "I won't be ignored." "You play fair with me, I'll play fair with you." Beth - "What's the matter with you?" Camera direction was magnificent, Archer believable, Douglas sincere and Close just spectacular. Despite its serious premise, the picture still manages to inject humor with Alex getting startled after Beth touches him after listening to the tape. Seeing the look of Dan when Alex was talking to Beth in their apartment was priceless. Six directors and 2 studios directed the screeplay according to the "Remembering Fatal Attraction" feature. The reshooting of the ending, original conclusion, reheasal footage, casting and global impact for its time were discussed in the bonus features. Fatal Attraction is engaging, influential and a classic in its own right based on the story and screenplay alone that touches on infidelity, psychotic disorder, loneliness, temptations and love of family.
