A French-German-American action drama film that that includes personalities and events that have historical accuracy. Yuri Orlov (Nicolas Cage), a Ukrainian-American gunrunner, narrates that murder is natural in his neighborhood and becomes involved in the sales of Uzi’s. He, together with his younger brother, Vitaly (Jared Leto), forms their own arms business. Jack Valentine (Ethan Hawke), an Interpol agent, investigates a shipment of Yuri. Vitaly started using drugs and he is let go by his brother. He becomes the biggest weapons dealer.

Jack – “You get rich by giving the poorest people on the planet the means to continue killing each other” Yuri – “We’re doing nothing with our lives.” They say, "Evil prevails when good men fail to act." What they ought to say is, "Evil prevails." “Bullets change governments” “You know who's going to inherit the earth? Arms dealers. Because everyone else is too busy killing each other. That's the secret to survival. Never go to war, especially with yourself.” The special features of the DVD were educational and insightful including the rough number of weapons sold, arms trafficking and the father of the AK-47. Images of the consequences of this business were depressing. Direction was wonderful and stylish while the performances were solid. Cage as the producer as well, was really effective here. Lord of War is a movie that deals with themes of corruption, effects of the business, malevolence and violence.
