The Maltese Falcon (1941)

Excellent film noir

The Maltese Falcon is a terrific mystery film noir, in every aspect basically. The story is properly complicated and interesting, and the incredibly well played, and original characters is what makes the film truly memorable. All the actors are great especially Sydney Greenstreet as the aptly named Gutman and Bogart may be in his best where he truly is great as Sam Spade. He shows the right control of every scene, and really gives a very strong performance. The film is interesting to see through, and I find just simply gets better after every viewing.
