The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Boring and a rip off.

This movie is painfully derivative of Forest Gump which means Eric Roth who wrote both was being incredible lazy when he wrote this. I would go into how there are already several articles on that, but it is a big problem with the movie because it results in a very boring adventure with a dull protagonist. He is played like an idiot as if he was Gump which is the biggest problem. It is as if he did not notice he was a person who aged backwards. What happens through the story is boring and the last part is one of those things where it is like lets get these characters dead and do it slowly. The characters he meets are colorful but still uninteresting. There is nothing special about this movie besides the special effects. Even the make up I have a problem with namely the make up on Cate Blanchett in the present scenes.

Oscar nomination Brad Pitt Best Actor 1/5- Brad Pitt really failed in this role which required a lot of depth in terms of internal gestures which Pit gives none of this. He just speaks in a lame southern droll has a lot of special effects around him and nothing else.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Review comment

I totally agree about Blanchett's old lady transformation, it was as if they just put that thing on her face to finish the shoot. I mean it wasn't as elaborate as Brad's grandpa make up. Plus she looked horrible in it
