The horrors of war could not be better filmed by the master of horrors, Bergman.
Of course. Go and watch Cries and whispers and Virgin spring, and tell me he doesn't know about "horrors".
Too dark, too opressive, too depressive. Still, a great film. For a Bergman, too mainstream to my taste. So, wont be a bad choice for starting with this genius.
