Sex and Breakfast

Ultimately Passionless
Franz Patrick - wrote on 04/07/08

For a small film, it's interesting enough. Although the actors could have refined their acting a bit, I didn't expect much coming into the film. The only thing I expected was seeing Macaulay Culkin because I haven't seen him since "Party Monster." I think if the movie didn't shy away from becoming a daring erotic drama, this would've been a better and more memorable film. Instead, there are were too many scens where the couples would argue. At times I found myself thinking, "Okay, I get that they have problems. Can we just move on?" The group therapy scene (which is the climax of the film) didn't really deliver. It promises to be good in the beginning of the picture but it was ultimately passionless. I find it fascinating when I turn to compare European erotic dramas to American erotic dramas. There's a monumental (if not shameful) difference.
